Cycling from Valencia to Gibraltar: Part One

May 28, 2018

In my most recent progress report, I discussed my plans to cycle south from Valencia along the Spanish coastline.

I’ve now reached Almeria – the halfway point of my journey.  The terrain has been undeniably tough at times, but the scenery has been stunning.  I’ve loved visiting the cities en route, but some of my favourite moments have been while discovering small villages and gorgeous beaches few tourists will ever find.  I’ve also met some eccentric characters along the way!

The video below encapsulates the varied landscapes I have travelled through so far and shows just some of the many highlights of the trip.

Tomorrow I leave the coast behind to head north, where I will be crossing the mountains of the Sierra Nevada as I cycle towards Granada.  Stay tuned for Part Two…
